Britain's Got Talent - 2nd semi-final

I didn't comment on this last night because I couldn't see all that much to be hugely happy about. But... there was still talent, not a lot but it was there so here's what I thought.

DJ Talent - How many 'Really, Really?!?' moments am I allowed to use per show before it gets annoying? Well, this guy used them all up, because everything from the gold bikini clad dancers to the pole dancing and the repetitive song 'lyrics' was awful! Seeing acts like this in the semi-final makes me glad I'm not British (no offense) because I can't imagine being represented in any way shape or form by this guy. The VT with his parents was cringe-worthy. My heart goes out to those two but a little part of me thinks that if they'd smacked some sense into him at a younger age than we wuldn't have had to sit throguht the awefullnes of this song. That said I'm sure the song will go to number 1 in the charts and you can bet Simon will be in on a piece of that cake.

Merlin Cadogan - I liked this guy. I could see the joy he got out of his act and how much he really wanted to entertain everyone. The act itself wasn't amazing. It sounds bad but I thought he got out of the straight jacket a bit too easily. I really wanted a bit more danger and unfortunately he didn't deliver.

Hot Honeyz -  It felt like this went on forever. They weren't as good as in the audition. The choreography was mediocre and they got out of sync quite a bit too. I'd also agree with Piers that I liked them better with more clothes on.

Peter Coughlan - I had some hope for this act. I didn't like his audition but I thought he might pull something out of the bag for the semi final. Miming to Beyonce and standing in the middle of the stage was not what I wanted to see. His make up and hair were fantastic though and I think if he'd actually done the dancing too then I might have enjoyed it more but I got completely bored!

Gareth Oliver - This guy deserved to be in the semi-final (unlike a lot of the other acts) but he was let down by what he chose to do. I'm not undermining the fact that he sung so fantastically because that was amazing but really a ventriloquists acts is meant to be entertaining too and it didn't work for me. I would like to see more from him though because I think he's a real talent.

Jamie Pugh - God, I really wanted him to do well. His audition was amazing. I loved the song he chose for it and seeing him get the standing ovation was fantastic. I'd say the nerves did get to him but the song choice in the semi-final was bad. Hopefully Simon's comments won't detroyed what little confidence he's built up.

Shaun Smith - He's only seventeen!! I thought he was at least 21/22. But he was good, really good. I thought the song was a nice way to show both a softer and a rocking out side of his personality. Still as the judges said he's got to face Susan Boyle as singing goes and her support is humongous at this stage.

Flawless - These were undoubtedly the best act of the night. I think of the two I enjoyed Diversity last night more but I have to say working in 'Chase the dream not the competition' line from the audition was genius. I can't wait to see the two acts in the final and see how they play off each other.

The Results - Seeing Flawless and Shaun Smith going through to the finals was again the right decision. If Gareth Oliver had better material on the night he might have had a better chance but at least the public recognised how talented he is by voting him into the top three. He llooked so surprised.

I haven't seen who's on tonight be please od let it be better than this one was.
