Learning to be ourselves is never easy, and for some of us it is impossible. Whether is because of the parents we have, the town we live in, or the attitudes of our community. 

 

I read this poem this evening and I had to share it with you. For all the work campaigns like the It Gets Better Project do in raising awareness and giving a voice to the LGBT community - and no matter how important I personality think that visibility is - it is also a sad truth that for a lot of people just being who they are is a death sentence. 

The most important thing you have to do is be safe!
