Can anyone tell me if there is a daily writing prompt community on livejournal? I'm not looking for fandom specific ones but if this was accepted along with original work that would be perfect?

Tell me about a story I haven't written, and I'll give you between one and three sentences from that story.

After finishing Nanowrimo this year I want to get back into writing properly. I have a few plot bunnies hopping around that look likely to run to the 15k plus mark but I wanted to test out my fandom skills with some... shorter pieces.

So please prompt me. Give me a few words or a sentence for a fandom prompt or pairing that I have even a passing knowledge with (or even something original) and I'll throw something back at you.

My fandoms include but are not limited to: Hawaii Five-O, Stargate Atlantis, Merlin, X-Men: First Class, Glee, Adam Lambert/Kris Allen, Inception, CSI: Las Vegas, Die Hard, Star Trek, NCIS, Rizzoli & Isles.

So just to expand on my earlier short post about being a, ahem, WINNER of Nanowrimo this year, I have to say a couple of things.

Firstly it would not have been possible without the use of the website Write or Die. It might not work for everyone and it might not work for me on all writing projects but it was perfect for nanowrimo. Honestly the thought of hearing crying babies or that peanut butter song if I stopped writing was enough to keep me going a lot of the time.

Secondly, and more importantly, I would not have been able to do it without my writing buddy mapleshy. Honey, I've known you for years but you still inspire me to do things I never tried before and make me feel like I'm not a complete freak while doing them. That is more valuable than any winner icon can ever be. Thank you for being my buddy in nano and in life.

Finally, I was playing around with wordle as I progressed over the month and thought I'd share the evolving progress of my nanowrimo novel.

I just realized it's been over two months since I posted anything on here and so I had to pop in to say Hello.

I'm in the middle of my first real Nanowrimo attempt since 2008 and even though I started with no real plot I'm at just over 37k and planning to have hit 50k by about the 27th. I'm kind of amazed and flabbergasted that I've achieved this and while I committed myself to the quantity over quality motto of Nano it's really given me a confidence in my writing again that I've been missing for, well, years if I'm honest.

Back in June/July, in prep for nano, I started a little daily prompt challenge with myself using the daily writing prompts that can be found here. (ETA: Turns out I actually posted about this at the time.) My rules were simple:
1) Take a look at the prompt for the next day & come up with a idea to write the next evening.
2) Ideas could be related to anything fandom or original or otherwise.
3) Write for a minimum of 15 minutes. Just write. I did not have to edit or even look at the piece again

Today I read over a few of the pieces I wrote from that exercise and there were spelling mistakes and grammar problems but the heart of them was right there on the page. And isn't that what matters.

I was thinking once Nanowrimo is over I might go back to my daily prompt challenge but actually post them on here.

I may even be persuaded to post some of the prompts I did earlier this year if there is interest.

It's been one of those weeks where I've felt fine but it's like all the tiredness hit me today. Exhausted! But I did manage to get my words written for today. Prompt was Yo-Yo based. Did about 400 words and actually pretty happy with it. Tomorrow is a two header prompt pairing aliens with underwater exploration. If that doesn't scream Atlantis may Thor strike me down where I stand.

Now, bed. Zzzzz

I wrote 600 words for my June prompt challenge today. To celebrate have some bits of news, pics and videos that caught my interest...

I realized today completely by accident I've posted something every day so far this month, mostly it's be pics or videos but I think I'm gonna keep it up. It may have something to do with the fact that I'm trying to get back into consistently writing so yesterday I decide to set myself a daily writing challenge for the rest of the month based on this daily prompt list for June. You should all join in!

Todays prompt was "On this day in 1867, Frank Lloyd Wright was born. Wright was a well-respected architect. He designed a number of famous homes. If you were able to design the house of your dreams, what would it look like?"

Obviously I wrote Doctor Who  fic on Jenny's backstory and her first meeting with Madame Vastra that shall never see the light of day. No honestly, I know less than nothing about Victorian London and I'm allowing myself the privilege of writing utter crap for the challenge once I write something so as much as I want to read fic about these two I will not be adding to the pile. That said, Jenny's brain is an utterly delicious to spend a few hours.

In closing, have some adorable mini warbler.
