Doctor Who 501: The 11th Hour

ladyoflisquillSo I took a day to process it. While I enjoyed the episode and I felt it definitely had a feel of the doctor about it I am still reserving judgement on not only the new doctor but also the new production team.
As a first outing I think it went fine but there was something a bit more childlike to the story than I was expecting... which is weird because I now I've said before that Moffat's stories in the past really tapped into childhood fears in all of us... I think this episode was a bit too comical maybe... I haven't watched the Sarah Jane series but I get the feeling that this episode is very much what it would be like.
I like Amy, both as a child and when we met her later, but anyone who thought for a moment that she was a real copper must be mad because helloooo to the miniskirt. I am 100% sure that is not part of the uniform.I do appreciate it though.
I quite like the village too and the few residence we saw, I hope we get to explore the area a bit more.
Oh and new look TARDIS is... interesting. Not sure how big of a part this is going to play in the show but I definitely saw stairs and an upper level. Could be fun to explore.
Overall verdict is "could do better" but I know I'll be watching again next week.
