Glee 220: Prom Queen

ladyoflisquillI'm not American and no matter how many John Hughes movies I watched growing up I don't really get the significance of Prom. There's Junior Prom and Senior Prom and Sadie Hawkins dances and IDK WTF is going on but anyway. It's a dance. It's a rite of passage so I'll just go with it.
We start with Puck. Yay! "Where does Lauren keep your balls?" I snorted I'll be honest but Pucks reaction was oh so sweet. Why did we not get a follow up on this??? I want the Pizes conversation where he's all defensive about it and she's cool and collected saying, "Do I make you do anything you don't want to do?" "...No." "And do really want to break up with this hot piece of ass?" "No!" Then smoochie times... The more I think about it the more I see this as being a totally awesome Dom/Sub relationship.

I get what Mercedes was saying about not needing a man but wanting to feel special. We all need that. I think Sam needed that too and Rachel's plan really worked. And Sam! Two episodes in a row where I actively like you. Well done. I love that he asked Mercedes to dance. I want them together now. #fickle
Blaine Warbler!!! That's... not really his name, right? I mean, no. I'm glad we got a little background on Blaine. We know he didn't have an easy time of it because he had to change school but this fleshes out how bad it was. It makes me want to go back and watch the earlier scenes when him and Kurt just met again to see how it reads differently now. And I LOVE that Kurt gave Blaine an out on going to the prom because heading into a situation like that for Blaine would not have been easy.
I like that they didn't make Lauren's prom dress problems about her size but rather about "nobody bigger than a two looks good in a prom dress". Cue Santana who looked HAWT!
The whole spiking the punch thing was kinda stupid but I thought while Sue was torturing Artie it was the perfect opportunity for Puck to spike the punch himself. I thought we would have found out this would have been the plan all along but I guess not.

Jesse "I was majoring in show choir" St James is back. Its kinda funny that Rachel still can't see him clearly. He's only coming back because he hasn't succeeded elsewhere. I never disliked him but he's a pretty bad bet. And Finn really needs to get his priorities straight and figure out what he wants. I'm bored of his "he loves me, he loves me not" thing.
Artie's serenade of Brittany was sweet but I respect Brittany for saying no. People call her dumb but she's only being true to who she is and doesn't let people treat her like crap and get away with him. The Rachel and Quinn could take a page out of her book.
Oh and Blaine, why don't you just casually hang out with Finn and Burt, y'know, like you always do!!! \o/ And I get what Burt is saying about Kurt courting attention but hiding is not that answer either. Especially when you look like a gay braveheart!
Max Adler better stop acting the hell out of Karofsky or I'll start having feelings for him. Jesus, him just apologizing to Kurt like that was so unexpected. And I can't help feeling that even though Kurt didn't hear any gay slurs in the last week that Karofsky did. And hearing them made him realise what he did to Kurt.
All the girls looked gorgeous in their dresses but Quinn and Mercedes really stood out for me. Gorgeous! Santana and Karofsky win the award for most uncomfortable couple ever.
I can't believe they sang Friday and actually made it sound okay.
When Figgins read out Prom Queen I actually gasped. In all honesty I can't believe a real principle would have read it out. And it's not a stupid joke. Hate is still hate no matter how it is manifested. Once again Kurt has to be braver than any other kid on the show and stand up against the whole school.
I liked the triptych they use between the three stories of Kurt/Quinn/Santana. School is tough no matter who you are.
Karosky was not ready. I get that. Having Blaine asking Kurt to dance was the perfect ending for Kurt. Can't believe the song was Dancing Queen. LOL!
