Child of ETA (with actual thoughts and SPOILERS): Lots of things happened in this episode that I both like and didn't like but the only thing I can talk about is Ianto.
He better not stay dead or I'm seriously getting off the TW train. He's been my favourite character right from the start. (Maybe he grew on me more after the whole stopwatch incident but still... favourite.) I just can't handle all this sadness, first Tosh & Owen and now Ianto. Just when he was starting to accept the y'know, thing he had going with Jack and Jack was starting to open up to him and actually be honest.
Fuck, fuck fuck.
All I can say is I'd hate to be in Jack's way now. He'll fucking destroy the 456 to get revenge for killing Ianto. They won't know what's hit them.
And actually if they are so powerful or whatever why do they need the children delivered to them? Why can't they just go out and take them? I have huge suspicions about exatly how powerful these alien guys are.
The conversation around the cabinet table was so chilling not because of how coldly they discussed the 'units' but how easily I could see that conversation happening in real life.
FUCK!

Date: 2009-07-09 09:44 pm (UTC)I honestly can't understand killing Ianto off. I can't remember being this annoyed about Tosh and Owen (maybe because they got a proper send off). Ianto is in a league of his own and not just because of his relationship with Jack (but that too was long overdue to sci-fi and much appreciated). I'd say 90% of the moments that made me laugh last season were all Ianto one liners.
God, just... I'm going to keep hoping and praying to whatever fandom gods there are out there that Ianto will come back.
