Yay, it's Friday! Zzzzzzzz
Jun. 10th, 2011 11:14 pmIt's been one of those weeks where I've felt fine but it's like all the tiredness hit me today. Exhausted! But I did manage to get my words written for today. Prompt was Yo-Yo based. Did about 400 words and actually pretty happy with it. Tomorrow is a two header prompt pairing aliens with underwater exploration. If that doesn't scream Atlantis may Thor strike me down where I stand.
Now, bed. Zzzzz
Now, bed. Zzzzz
Have some random for today
Jun. 9th, 2011 11:28 pmI wrote 600 words for my June prompt challenge today. To celebrate have some bits of news, pics and videos that caught my interest...

Jun. 8th, 2011 10:20 pmI wasn't sure how to preface this video. Let me start by saying it could be triggering for abortion and miscarriage and pregnancy. Whatever your political or personal beliefs on abortion - a discussion I will not enter into in this post - this information is important. This is a health issue.

Gonna get your heart racing...
Jun. 8th, 2011 09:25 pmI realized today completely by accident I've posted something every day so far this month, mostly it's be pics or videos but I think I'm gonna keep it up. It may have something to do with the fact that I'm trying to get back into consistently writing so yesterday I decide to set myself a daily writing challenge for the rest of the month based on this daily prompt list for June. You should all join in!
Todays prompt was "On this day in 1867, Frank Lloyd Wright was born. Wright was a well-respected architect. He designed a number of famous homes. If you were able to design the house of your dreams, what would it look like?"
Obviously I wrote Doctor Who fic on Jenny's backstory and her first meeting with Madame Vastra that shall never see the light of day. No honestly, I know less than nothing about Victorian London and I'm allowing myself the privilege of writing utter crap for the challenge once I write something so as much as I want to read fic about these two I will not be adding to the pile. That said, Jenny's brain is an utterly delicious to spend a few hours.
In closing, have some adorable mini warbler.

What, so we can only be beautiful as women if we wear f*cking dresses? Scew you, poster!

* This is not an attack on the Now Foundation but more on the definitions of what are socially accepted gender classifications of beauty. I saw X-Men tonight, so I may be more pissed off than normal at how people are treated as outcasts in the world when we don't fit into acceptable boxes. >:-(

Jun. 4th, 2011 03:46 amJust back from visiting a friend where I learned her roommate is a HUGE Star Trek geek.
We spent hours talking about the show and favourite characters and then watched the reboot movie. I've probably seen it three times already but let me just say... that movie is as close to perfection as I could ever dream a Star Trek movie to be. Everything in it is just soo fucking wonderful. I feel like I had mental orgasm for the whole 127 minutes.
...and obviously I needed to share this with you... it is necessary.

Jun. 3rd, 2011 12:21 am I feel like this poster is channeling Danny in some way...

After Ellen have a brilliant piece today called What if slash shippers ruled the world? with the top 10 femslash TV couples if slashers had our way.
All I can say is I want the Glee fic where Rachel and Quinn realise they are not fighting over Finn but to make sure the other is single so they can have smoochy smooch time.
And don't even get me started on Rizzoli and Isles.

Glee 220: Prom Queen
May. 11th, 2011 09:40 pmI'm not American and no matter how many John Hughes movies I watched growing up I don't really get the significance of Prom. There's Junior Prom and Senior Prom and Sadie Hawkins dances and IDK WTF is going on but anyway. It's a dance. It's a rite of passage so I'll just go with it.

May. 11th, 2011 07:48 pmI literally had tears running down my face reading this: “Power Bottoming,” The Most Disturbing New Trend in American Homosexuality over at Christwire. *
Warning for NSFW pic and anti-gay language, but one of my favourite lines was probably "Most often, the bottom can be identified by his bearded face, sarcastic flippancy and very tight slacks (to show off the buoyancy of his buttocks)."
Oh Danny!
*For those that don't know Christwire is a satirical website that publishes blog style articles that highlight perceived excesses of Christian conservatives. So, y'know, not to be taken seriously! ;)

Being Queer and Being Safe.
May. 8th, 2011 12:32 amLearning to be ourselves is never easy, and for some of us it is impossible. Whether is because of the parents we have, the town we live in, or the attitudes of our community.
I read this poem this evening and I had to share it with you. For all the work campaigns like the It Gets Better Project do in raising awareness and giving a voice to the LGBT community - and no matter how important I personality think that visibility is - it is also a sad truth that for a lot of people just being who they are is a death sentence.
The most important thing you have to do is be safe!

It's only been a couple of hours since I watched this episode and already I'm desperate for the next one. BUT before I get ahead of myself...
Since I haven't done an episode review on H50 yet let me just sum up quickly how I feel about the show. Basically it's like my crack (or secondary crack because, Glee exists and is total crack), It's the show I look forward to every week that will give me explosions and beautiful scenery and great banter and awesome ladies and manpain and laughter and Ohana rolled up into a nice 40min package.

Doctor Who 602: Day of the Moon
Apr. 30th, 2011 09:03 pmI don't even know if I'm going to be able to write my comments in any coherent way for this episode because it was just soooo AWESOME! Seriously there was not one single thing that I disliked and I can't even remember the last time I felt like that. I am even re-watching it as I type and I NEVER do that. After feeling so disappointed by the show in Moffat's first season I think we are finally getting Moffat worthy pieces again.
Doctor Who 601: The Impossible Astronaut
Apr. 24th, 2011 03:56 pmI haven't posted in months on my tv watching - or much else for that matter - but I think now is the time to start.
Before I put my thoughts down on this episode let me just say Elisabeth Sladen, we will miss you. You were an amazing companion, role model and a true lady. Thank you.
Now on to the episode...

Oct. 28th, 2010 10:35 pm Two human slaves, Fin Adam and Karik Kris, are terraforming under the command of some aliens called Growers. The Growers want their slaves to breed, so they use mind control to make them have sex. Seems the Growers are a single-gender species, so they don't know how human reproduction works.

Jul. 31st, 2010 05:56 pmEvery week After Elton features a picture for it's readers to caption... This one had me in giggles.

"Once upon a time there were three gay boys who all worked at The Gap, and each was assigned very hazardous t-shirt folding duties.
But I took them away from all that. My name is Charlie."
I would LOVE to see that movie. It would be a mash up between 3 Men & a Little Lady and Mission: Impossible. Box Office Gold!
